Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms”) set forth the conditions for the use of the services provided on this website by the Drug-Induced Suffering Data Archives (D.I.S.) (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”). Users shall use the services (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”) in accordance with these Terms.

Article 1 (Scope of Application)

These Terms shall apply to all relationships between the User and the Site relating to the use of the Service.

Article 2 (Use of Data)

The copyrights to all data provided by the Site—including text, photographic data, PDF files, and all other content—belong to the Site (and the respective researchers).
Use of such data without clearly indicating the name of the Site and its URL is prohibited.

Article 3 (Disclaimer)

The Site shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or misunderstandings incurred by Users as a result of using information provided by the Site.

Article 4 (Prohibited Activities)

Users shall not engage in the following activities when using the Service:

  1. Making data or information provided by the Site directly downloadable on websites operated by the User without prior authorization from the Site
  2. Acts that violate laws or public order and morals
  3. Acts related to criminal activities
  4. Acts that destroy or interfere with the functions of the Site’s servers or network
  5. Acts that may interfere with the operation of the Site’s services
  6. Acts that directly or indirectly provide benefits to antisocial forces in connection with the Site’s services
  7. Any other acts deemed inappropriate by the Site

Article 5 (Suspension of the Service)

The Site may suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service without prior notice to Users if it determines that any of the following circumstances apply:

  1. When maintenance, inspection, or updates of computer systems related to the Service are conducted
  2. When provision of the Service becomes difficult due to force majeure such as earthquakes, lightning, fire, power outages, or other natural disasters
  3. When computers or communication lines are stopped due to accidents
  4. When the Site otherwise determines that provision of the Service is difficult

The Site shall not be liable for any disadvantage or damage suffered by Users or third parties due to suspension or interruption of the Service, regardless of the reason.

Article 6 (Modification of Service Content)

The Site may change the content of the Service or discontinue the Service without prior notice to Users and shall not be liable for any damages incurred by Users as a result thereof.

Any notices or communications between Users and the Site shall be made in accordance with the methods prescribed by the Site.

Article 9 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
Any disputes arising in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Site.
